About
Growing up in Zurich, Switzerland, Denise spent most of her childhood making up stories and creating things. Not being allowed to keep pets, due to an allergy to animal hair, she drew piles of maps with futuristic visions on how to capture and tame wild lions in the African savanna.
Years later, after some Graphic Design & Illustration studies at Saint Martins University, topped by a Master of Arts in Animation from the Royal College of Art in London, and a brave move to Norway, she continues to write stories and to convince other people help her shape tiny universes.
Denise creates unique film concepts marrying her story telling skills with visual techniques such as merging life action footage with hand made miniature landscapes, adding bits of stop-motion and digital animation. These talents and her attention to detail are best visible in her most recent project Return to Sender, a 12-minute mixed media short film. The charming and quirky film was conceived and completed in a tiny, wintery town in central Norway with financial support from Midtnorsk Filmsenter.
Since November 2011 Denise is signed for worldwide representation to Hornet inc. in New York, where you’re likely to find her from beginning of the new year.
